City Recognized with Crown Communities Award

The City of Rancho Cordova, Sacramento County, Mercy Housing California, and Veterans Resource Centers of America (VRC) - have been awarded American City & County magazine's 2017 Crown Communities Award for their efforts in making Mather Veterans Village Phase I a reality.

Mather Veterans Village provides housing to meet the unique needs of veterans who are homeless and disabled. It took ten years of working with committed partners to find the funding and resources to create a place that offers permanent supportive housing, a place where veterans can feel a sense of pride, a place where they can learn skills to rebuild their lives, and a place where they can lay their head down at night, knowing that a grateful country and community has provided them a place to call home.
