National Lutheran Schools Week
It's Still All About Jesus
Last week during our National Lutheran Schools Week our students and teachers experienced a fantastic fun time.  We shared God's Word together each morning with all school devotions.  Letters were written and pictures were drawn to send to our shut-in friends.  Teachers led students in a variety of mini-clubs to expand our horizons.  Classes reached across grade levels and with chapel buddies to help one another with a Jesus craft. The Faith Families competed each day in relay races to see which Faith Family would get the privilege to pie Mrs. Jennings on Friday.  (Mrs. Monson's Faith Family won!)  Of course, each day we had a dress up theme.  Most of all, we remembered that IT'S STILL ALL ABOUT JESUS!  We want to thank Ms. Niesche for planning this wonderful week of celebrating our school.
2018-2019 Registration
Registration for Early Learning Center has begun. Click HERE to start the process. Remember... if the student you are enrolling has never been a student at Shepherd, you will have to use the BLUE button, even if they have a sibling already enrolled.

K-8th grade registration will begin next week.
Where Will Your Reading Take You?
The National Lutheran Schools AR (Accelerated Reading) Challenge has begun!  Shepherd of the Hills (Grades 1-8) is once again participating in this Challenge with about 50 other Lutheran Schools.  Students are reading books.  Once they have read a book, they take AR quizzes on the book.  We plan on doing well in this friendly competition which is from January 29 to March 9.  Last year our eighth grade took first place in the eighth grade division.

Shepherd also has our own AR competition with prizes for classrooms earning the highest points and for having the highest point total per student.  Last year the competition was close as classrooms vied to be the leader from week to week.  Look at the "Where Will Your Reading Take You?" wall in the computer lab for weekly updates!
Banangrams Challenge
Students in 4th-8th grade are invited to participate in a Bananagrams Competition. Please e-mail Ms. Niesche ( [email protected]) if your child would like to participate.

Thank you, Shepherd Family, for your great generosity!  For the Sweet Dreams in a Bag offering collected at the Christmas program you donated $869.  We collected $607 for the Deputy Parrish family during our chapel offerings in January.  Thank you so much!
Have a Talent You Would Like to Share?
Do you sing, dance, or act?  Share your talent!  Do you have a gymnastics routine or a karate demonstration?  Share your talent!  Do you play a musical instrument?  Share your talent! It's hard to believe but the Talent Show will be coming up soon on March 13!  We are having talent show tryouts after school on Wednesday, February 28 and Thursday, March 1st.  If you have a talent you would like to share, please consider trying out. ign up sheets will be outside Mrs. Shoaf's classroom.  Remember that acts should be about 2 minutes in length.

Participation in The Talent Show is open to ELC through 8th grade.
