GROWL ON: SEVERAL PGC WATERING HOLES HAVE THE "FEBREWARY" BREW
Month-long celebration honoring Maryland's wonderful craft beers is now underway...
Craft beer fans...lift your glass (or growler) high. This is  FeBREWary Maryland's official month-long celebration of all things craft beer. In addition to the enjoyment of Maryland craft beers across the state, there are special brews (like CUPID'S CURSE), tastings, and exciting events that make FeBREWary a special occasion.

Calvert Brewing Company (CBC) is in a festive way at their Upper Marlboro Brewery & Tap Room. Along with great Maryland brew and samplings, special festivities are scheduled every Saturday in February. Details can be found online.

Other PGC establishments where you can enjoy great Maryland brew include hometown favorites  Franklins Restaurant & Brewery in the Gateway Arts District in Hyattsville , Old Maryland Grill (OMG) at The Hotel UMD in College Park, the TAP Sports Bar and George Washington Beer & Wine at MGM National Harbor, the Bar & Lounge at Harborside Hotel in Oxon Hill, Town Center Market in Riverdale Park, and the Bistro at Old Line Fine Wines & Spirits in Beltsville

WHAT'S THIS CUPID'S CURSE? Taste first, ask questions later.  In the grand tradition of craft beers, Calvert Brewing Co. is one of a select group of brewers participating in FeBREWary's CUPID'S CURSE. CUPID'S CURSE is each brewer's top-secret, unique, one-time beer created just for FeBREWary. CUPID'S CURSE will be available thru-out the month.

Experience FeBREWary and enjoy the Maryland Merriment - responsibly.

PICTURE THIS: NEW BOOK CHRONICLES ROUTE 1'S EVOLUTION
Much-traveled artery has been a mainstay for travelers for generations...
It's one of America's Main Streets, but we locals know it as simply Route 1, a much-traveled link between the City of Baltimore and Washington DC...that happens to run 14 miles, smack dab thru Prince George's County.

Properly labeled as US Highway 1, with segments as Baltimore Ave, Washington Blvd (depending on where you land), this historically important pathway spans generations, communities and development. In PGC, it runs thru areas of Mount Rainier, Brentwood, North Brentwood, Hyattsville, Riverdale Park, College Park, Beltsville, and Laurel.

Now a book chronicles the evolution and history of one of the region's most important roads. It comes to us  from the historically imaginative mind of all-around good guy Aaron Marcavitch, Executive Director of PGC's Maryland Milestones/Anacostia Trails Heritage Area.

US Route 1: Baltimore to Washington, DC is avail thru Amazon, March 12 (with pre-order avail now). It is one of a number of historical books related to Prince George's County. Here are a few to get you started:

GUEST ROOM: SEVERAL PGC SPOTS MAKE AIR-B'S STAY LIST FOR MD
Hyattsville did over 7k arrivals in 2017, confluence near National Harbor tops 12.5 arrivals...
Like it or not, use it or not, the online rental site, Airbnb, has embedded itself across the world as a tourism option. In short order, used by travelers of all ages and persuasions, it has become the "Uber" of hospitality.

Prince George's County has not been overlooked by the service and its clientele. Our immediate proximity to the sights and sounds of Washington DC - and our own elevation as a destination (with the likes of National Harbor, the Gaylord, MGM, and Six Flags America) makes PGC an attractive landing pad. Here's a breakout of the most popular areas in the county, by guest arrivals and host income for 2017:

Bowie - 2,900 arrivals/$460,000
Fort Washington - 6,000 arrivals/$1.1 mill
Hyattsville - 7,300 arrivals/$1 mill
Oxon Hills - 2,900 arrivals/$579,000
Temple Hills - 3,800 arrivals/$308,000
