Parents with current freshmen, sophomores and juniors: this is a final reminder that if you have not done so already, to register your child for the 2018-2019 school year.

The online registration form and registration fee of $200 (which was charged to your FACTS account on Thursday, Jan. 25) is due by Thursday, Mar. 15. Complete registration information, including the registration timeline, can be found  here .

Registration payments for the 2018-2019 school year made after Mar. 15 will increase to $350. Contact Katie Malloy in the Business office, via email or 461-3740 x211, if you have any questions.

Third Quarter Report Cards and Parent-Teacher Conferences
Third quarter report cards will be posted in NetClassroom on Thursday, Mar. 15. Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for Thursday, Mar. 22 from 4-6 p.m. Parents will be able to sign up for conferences online starting Thursday, Mar. 15 at 5 p.m. and continuing through Tuesday, Mar. 20. Directions for signing up for conferences will be mailed to parents.

Prayer S ervice for Peace and Nonviolence
Wednesday, Mar. 14 | Emmanuel Church
The Office of Student Services and Ministry & Service Office are working with a group of students to plan a 17-minute prayer service that will offer the CJ community a few moments to pray and reflect on the recent violence in our nation on Wednesday, Mar. 14 during school. The school day will be on a modified Block A schedule with classes still beginning at 9:37 a.m.

Summer Mission Trip Update
All students participating in a mission trip this summer received an email last week which gave information regarding payment due dates and online links, as well as orientation meetings. The second payment for the Taos, New Mexico trip is Monday, Mar. 19 and the final payment due date for all trips is Wednesday, Apr. 18. There is a mandatory parent/student meeting f or the Taos, New Mexico trip only on Wednesday, Mar. 14 from 7 - 8 p.m. in room 126. 

George Early Service Scholarship
Applications Due Thursday, Mar. 15
Applications were sent out on Monday to all eligible sophomores for the George Early Service Scholarship. Sophomores who have submitted 70 or more "blue/over and above" volunteer hours to the Ministry & Service office by the end of their first semester this year are eligible for this scholarship. Applications are due back Thursday, Mar. 15.

AP Test Sign-ups - LAST CALL
Forms Due Friday, Mar. 9
Students received their AP forms last week in their AP classes. AP tests are optional but students should talk to their teacher about the benefits of taking these tests. These forms are due to Emily Saunders, in guidance, by Friday, Mar. 9. AP fees will be charged to the FACTS account. Students should contact Emily Saunders if they have any questions.

UD is offering three summer camps focused on engineering: minority engineering and technology enrichment camp for young men, women in engineering, and honors engineering. Learn more about each camp here .

Miami University Summer Scholars Program
Miami will be hosting two sessions of their Summer Scholars Program this July. The Summer Scholars Program provides a rich, early college experience for academically talented rising high school juniors and seniors from across the globe. 2018 Eagle Pride
Encourage your child to learn more about Eagle Pride for the 2018-2019 school year! Eagle Pride is open to students who will be in grades 9-12. Women's Lacrosse CJ Play Day

The 2nd Annual CJ Play Day will be Sunday, Mar. 11 from 12-6 p.m. Ten Dayton-area women's lacrosse teams will play mini matches against each other as a season ice breaker. The concession stand will be open. There is free admission and guests are encourged to bring items such as peanut butter, dish soap and paper towels which will be given to 4 Paws for Ability.

Women's volleyball conditioning sessions will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-8 p.m. in the SCC beginning Tuesday, Mar. 20. Open gyms will be on Sundays from 7-8:30 p.m. beginning Sunday, Apr. 15.

Dayton Boat Club
Spring Season Beginning
Dayton Boat Club (DBC) offers competitive rowing opportunities to CJ students and high school students from all Dayton and surrounding area schools. Teams for the spring 2018 season are forming now! Led by seven coaches, most who have had NCAA rowing and/or coaching experience, our rowers regularly achieve high levels of success at both local, regional and national competitions which has captured the attention of many collegiate rowing programs. Rowing is a sport that requires no prior experience to be successful and all rowers participate. S.O.A.P. Up the First Four - VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
Saturday, Mar. 10 | 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Partnering with Save Our Adolescents from Prostitution (S.O.A.P.), volunteers will be educating hotel staff on the red flags of human trafficking, mobilizing volunteers to help label bars of hotel soap with the National Human Trafficking Hotline Number and passing out missing children posters just before the First Four NCAA Basketball Tournament comes to town. Students ages 5-18 are encouraged to attend Science Saturdays at Antioch College on Mar. 10, Apr. 21 and May 19. The events will focus on food chemistry, biomedical science, forensic chemistry, physics and environmental science. Learn more here .

Lily's Bistro and The Dayton Sister City Committee are excited to collaborate on "The Sister City Soiree" on March 22nd from 6 - 9 p.m. The event features appetizers representing each of Dayton’s sister city’s food and culture. CJ Mock Trial Team - VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
The Mock Trial season runs from mid-September until the end of January. The culmination is a District Tournament held at the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court Building. Most of the legal aspect is handled by a team of attorneys who volunteer their time. Learn more about the Mock Trial program here .
