THREE AIRPORT BUSINESSES APPROVED FOR EXPANSION
Berry Aviation
A 40 year ground lease for a 30,500 square foot maintenance facility was approved by Council last Tuesday. The $3.5M investment will include a 19,200 square foot hangar and approximately 11,300 square feet of office and storage space. The addition will allow Berry to accommodate their aircraft fleet for maintenance while utilize their existing hangar for based and transient customers.
Coast Flight
Council approved the lease of the hangar located at 1813 Airport Drive for Coast Flight to store their training aircraft while undergoing inspection and during inclement weather. In their short time here, Coast's fleet has grown to 20 aircraft (16 single engine and 4 multi-engine). They anticipate having 30 aircraft by late summer.
Compliance/Blue Skies Aviation
Blue Skies Aviation is expanding their services to include aircraft interiors, engine motor and power exhaust installations, and a pilot shop. To accommodate the growing business, Council approved the lease of the hangar located at 1815 Airport Drive. Blue Skies is currently remodeling the office space and will relocate their corporate offices to the new hangar upon completion. Their existing facility will continue to be used as their aircraft maintenance facility.

AIRPORT TRAFFIC
Air traffic counts at the airport have more than doubled since the beginning of the year, thanks in large part to Coast Flight's training! With this, we would like to remind everyone that between 7:00 PM and 7:00 AM (outside air traffic control tower hours) the airspace is considered Class E.

CONCRETE REPAIRS
Each year, we receive grant funding from TxDOT Aviation for miscellaneous maintenance and improvement projects. The grant - called the Routine Airport Maintenance Program, or RAMP - allows the airport to utilize matching funds for projects as approved by the State.
To combat the deterioration of concrete that comes with age, we've been using RAMP funds to make repairs along taxiways and the apron.
Our focus is currently on taxiways Alpha and Charlie. Additionally, all taxiways and ramp lead-in lines are swept on a routine basis. These repairs will continue as we work to secure funding for a more permanent solution.

Your safety is always our number one concern. We understand what an inconvenience this has caused for many of you and are doing everything in our power to expedite the process.
We truly appreciate your continued patience.
