Team Kids Kick-Off
TOMORROW (Monday) at Flag Deck

Team Kids returns to HV tomorrow with a  SPECIAL Flag Deck Assembly in the MPR! The nonprofit brings lessons in critical community issues to HV such as homelessness, hunger, literacy, and the environment. Every HV student will be invited to participate in 3 challenge weeks - beginning next week.  4th-6th Graders may volunteer on the  Student  Leadership Team once a week during  Monday lunch recess, planning  Schoolwide Carnival Fundraiser for the last day of the Challenge ( Friday, April 13th - during school/at school) to raise funds for a charitable cause of their choice. For more about Team Kids,  click here.

The 35th Annual Newport-Mesa Spirit Run
THIS NEXT SUNDAY (3/18) at Fashion Island

RACE FOR THE SCHOOLS!

Register for  adult races (15k, 10k, 5k, and 1 mile (elite, open, and dog)),  youth races (Youth 5k, ¼ to 1 mile, and a Toddler Trot), and/or  family events (5k Family Walk and Family Mile) at Newport Center Sunday morning, 18th March.....or just join HV there to  cheer on friends and enjoy the Youth & Fitness Expo featuring a  pancake breakfast by Plum’s Cafe,  live music by NMUSD students,  bungee trampolinerock climbing, and other youth activities,  a new Dog Expo, and more. Every child participating will receive a finisher's medal. Competitive runners might win winners' medals or take on a challenge brought by Dr. Schmidt! All HV Spirit Run runners will also be recognized at a Flag Deck. (Spirit Run is for ALL to participate at any age - and whether or not they're part of HV's Track Team!)

THIS  Friday, March 16 th Blaze Pizza, Fashion Island will donate  20% of its sales to Spirit Run registrants and supporters to Newport-Mesa Spirit Run. Please let the cashier know you are a Spirit Run supporter when you buy your meal. As a Spirit Run Promotional Partner HV is eligible to benefit from this donation!

So please mark your calendar for  Friday, March 16 th to enjoy a delicious pizza or many other delicious items on the menu at Blaze Pizza, Fashion Island. And if you do so between  3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. you can pick up your Spirit Run race materials and/or register for Spirit Run. Spirit Run will also auction off entries for 2019 and tech shirts. Athleta will auction off two athletic outfits for girls.
