Congratulations Queen Halle
& The Entire 2018 Royal Court
Wow, what a night! Those who joined us at West Valley High School last Sunday for the 2018 Queen and Court Coronation, were treated to a wonderful display of community, ambition, intelligence and beauty. All 7 Royalty Court members did an amazing job representing the Lilac City and it's Festival.
It was a busy weekend for the young ladies, starting on Thursday at Family Night. Here, they were able to rehearse their prepared speeches as well as answer warm-up and impromptu questions. On Saturday, they spent the day speaking one on one with the 5 Coronation judges as well as getting some bonding time in with each other. Sunday got off to an early start with brunch at VP Community & Military, Kristy Hamby's home in Airway Heights. Along with President Nancy Cole, VP Royalty, Kim Johnson, chaperones and Kristy, they were able to enjoy some quiet time to reflect on the past several weeks and relax before Coronation.
Later in the afternoon, it was time for the Princesses to really shine in front of a large crowd of Lilac Festival members, friends, family, and many more from all around our community. After the amazing speeches by these future leaders and hearing a wonderful farewell from our 2017 Court, it was time to award scholarships and crown the Queen! In the end, Halle from North Central High School, was crowned the 2018 Lilac Festival Queen. One thing is for sure, Spokane is very lucky to have 7 amazing young women that will soon become exceptional leaders in our region.

2018 "Lilac City's Got Talent!"
Spokane Lilac Festival and BECU are proud to present our Inaugural “Lilac City’s Got Talent!” Show! Highlighting the amazing talent of High School Seniors around Spokane County.
2018 President, Nancy Cole, has been working with the Leadership Class at Ferris High School and their amazing teacher Karissa Jacobson to organize and put this event for the past several months. With part of our mission statement reading: “Empower Our Youth," each year the Festival will work with a different area High School Leadership Class to plan and execute this event. The students will finish feeling empowered by their new abilities to project plan and the Lilac Festival will donate $500 to their program for their help. Win win!
Area High School Seniors will be submitting applications and audition videos until April 3rd. From there, SLFA and the FHS Leadership team will pick 10 finalists who will then compete at the live show on Tuesday evening, May 15th, at the Ferris High School auditorium. The top 3 winners will win prize money and all ticket sales will be split between the Lilac Festival Royal Scholarship Program and the Washington State Fallen Heroes Project.
We hope you will join us for what we anticipate to be an amazing opportunity to see some of our Regions most talented young adults as well as help two great programs. For more show information and how to purchase tickets, click the button below.
