RIP Wesley Robertson
We have truly lost a one-of-a-kind, larger than life, unique KVMR character and talent.
Wesley Robertson died Sunday morning from massive injuries he
 incurred in a car accident Saturday night.
There simply are no words that can express the profound grief we are all feeling at this sudden and major loss to KVMR. Wes has been an integral part of our station's volunteer corps for over 30 years, and there could be no better proponent for live music programming, festival broadcasts and his incredible passionate love of "Rock'N'Stompin," which he has hosted on

aturday afternoons since 1990.

Town Hall Forum
KVMR will host a community discussion, "Affordable Housing: A Nevada County Dilemma," Tuesday, March 20th from 6 -8 pm at the Nevada Theatre. This public affairs conversation will also be broadcast live on KVMR.
The issue of affordable housing is receiving priority attention from the county and cities of Nevada City, Grass Valley, and Truckee.
A panel of local business experts will offer their perspective and thoughts on the state, and future, of affordable housing in Nevada County.

Introducing Shauna...
KVMR's new Volunteer Director, Shauna and her husband - a Red Eye Broadcaster - David Rhodes moved to Nevada City in 2015 to fulfill their need to jump off of the Silicon Valley treadmill, smell some flowers and play some music. They were drawn here by none other than the KMVR radio station
Shauna grew up in a musical family. She loved playing music at a young age. She played piano for primary school aged children at church. She has fond memories of choreographing dances to Tennessee Ernie Ford's song, "16 Tons."

NCArts will present the 2018
Sierra Poetry Festival Saturday April 28th at Sierra College in Grass Valley.
Activities will include a keynote address by national Los Angeles Poet Laureate
Robin Coste Lewis, author of Voyage of the Sable Venus, winner of National
Book Award for Poetry.
