During the month of February, American Pest Control partnered with Barrow Book Partnership to collect books for the "Love of Books" Campaign. APC will be putting 1300 books in the hands of our youngest Barrow citizens. In addition, Barrow County Schools collected 400 books in our Professional Development Center (PDC) barrell. We can also add the Bethlehem Elementary Kindergarten class' Kindness Challenge book collection of 111 books by Ms. Edwards students. All total: 1811 books have been collected to be shared and given to Barrow children and families through the Book Nooks at the Barrow County Health Department; Medlink Winder; Barrow Pediatrics and through other BBP contacts in our community. WJBB Radio 107.1 had a live Broadcast celebration at American Pest Control in Winder to talk about ways we can improvie literacy in our county. 

The community agencies that make up the Barrow Book Partnership deeply appreciate the community's support for literacy and their assistance in promoting the love of reading for a lifetime!



WBHS Drill Team
AHS Drill Team

The Winder-Barrow High JROTC Drill Team won their 3rd Region Championship title in the last 4 years. WBHS teams took 1st place in 4 out of the 5 events. A special HOORAH to seniors, Cadets Maddy Harrison, Nick Nagy, Becca Tibbitts, Jake Turner and Xander Gay.

The Apalachee High JROTC Drill team was the State Drill Qualifier for Area 8 in the Female Category. AHS placed 1st in the overall category. Morgan Miller commanded the Color Guard to a 1st place finish and 2nd place finish in Individual Exhibition. Gabrielle Rider commanded the Armed Squad to a 2nd place finish, and Baylee Turner commanded Unarmed Squad to a 3rd place finish.
