Dear St. George Families,

"Daddy Long Legs" is the story of an orphan girl who receives gifts from an unknown person. She grows through childhood, and her teen years blessed with opportunities provided by her secret "parent." She tries to imagine what this wonderful person is like!

Then one day she discovers the identity of her benefactor. Her joy overflows! As you share her excitement, you think how sad it would have been to go through life without having or met thanked this gracious and special person.

The story of "Daddy Long Legs" is a parable of God and each of us. God give us gift upon gift. Do we recognize that all we have is a gift from God? Do we take time to say "thank you?"

Lent is a time of reflection, take time each day to thank God for what he has give to you. Before dinner go around the table and ask each member of your family to mention one thing they are most thankful for. Then, as a family, thank God for all your blessings.

God bless you and your family,
Jack Nelson
