Irish Storytelling Concert: 8:00-10:30pm

Cost: $48.00 Per Person/$96.00 Per Couple

Reservations Required. We do sell out of tickets. Reserve your seat today!

Blackthorn welcomes you to the rich tapestry of Celtic music.
Traditional  songs of emigration, sea shanties, lively jigs and reels, and ancient airs  combine with some of Ireland's best contemporary songs for a musical
experience that captures the history and legend of Ireland and its people.*

What makes a Blackthorn show unique is the variety of tunes, tempos and
textures. Each member of the band plays multiple instruments, including
wooden flute, accordion, tin whistle, five string banjo, cittern, bones and
more. These instruments complement the lead vocal of Belfast native Richard
McMullan and the band's tight blend of four part harmony.

Williamston Theater Presents A National New Play Network
Rolling World Premiere Beginning March 22
Tickets Now On Sale

Mid-Michigan's award winning professional theatre company, Williamston Theatre, located at 122 S. Putnam Street in downtown Williamston, is proud to announce the National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere of Doublewide by Stephen Spotswood. Performances begin Thursday, March 22 and run through Sunday, April 22. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, February 27 at Noon.

Jim Starkey's version of the American Dream is a modest one: to build a home on his one-acre plot of land and replace his doublewide trailer with something that he and his wife Sharon can leave for their daughter Lorelai to inherit.  When a highway expansion project shatters their plans, Jim and Sharon have differing plans on how to make their dreams come true, and Lorelai has to consider what kind of future to build for herself. A heartfelt and funny exploration of how far one family will go to hold on to their dreams... and each other. (Contains Adult Content/Language)

The cast of Doublewide consists of two newcomers to the Williamston stage, Michigan
State University students
Katelyn Hodge and Sean McKeon, along with Joseph Albright (While We Were Bowling, Every Christmas Story Ever Told), Brenda Lane (Too Much, Too Much, Too Many) and Emily Sutton-Smith (Too Much, Too Much, Too Many, Miracle on South Division Street). Williamston Theatre's Artistic Director, Tony Caselli (Beau Jest, 1984) is the Director for Doublewide. The production team includes Scenic Design by Kirk Domer (Our Lady of Poison, 1984), Lighting Design by Dana White (Too Much, Too Much, Too Many), Costume Design by Holly Iler (The Taming, Murder for Two), Sound Design by Quintessa Gallinat (The Taming, The Nerd) and Props Design by Michelle Raymond (Our Lady of Poison, Beau Jest). The Stage Manager is Stefanie Din (Beau Jest, The Taming).

Performances for Doublewide will run from March 22 through April 22 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at eight o'clock and Sunday afternoons at two o'clock. Starting March 31, a three o'clock performance will be added to the remaining Saturdays of the run. The first four performances of Doublewide, March 22 - 25, are Preview performances where audience members will have the opportunity to take part in the process of creating a show by participating in a talkback session with the director following each performance. The Official Opening Night is Friday, March 30 and the Conversation Sunday for Doublewide is Sunday, April 15th.  Please note there is no performance on Sunday, April 1.

Friends of Williamston Parks Give Fundraising Update
at Sunrise Rotary

Friends of Williamston Parks (FOWP) gave Williamston Rotary an update on its efforts to rebuild a playground at Volunteers Community Park, next to the Commons. The group has been fundraising for the past year, and will continue throughout the summer to raise approximately $75,000 needed to rebuild the playground. They have reached the $25,000 mark, and are hoping for a DNR Recreation Passport Grant to get them closer to their goal. (For those of us who are old enough, the playground will go where the Space Net was years ago.) Williamston Sunrise Rotary has donated $1,000, and other service organizations in town are also supporting their efforts.

A major fund-raiser is scheduled for  Saturday, May 19, when FOWP will stage a Play-a-thon at McCormick Park from  8AM to 10PM. Kids from the Williamston area will contacting you to pledge funds for a 'playday'. The kids will play at McCormick Park for as many hours as they can. In addition to music, special activities and games, D&W will provide hot dogs at  noon and Old Nation Brewery will be there with its amazing root beer.
