At MassEcon Annual Meeting, Northeastern's Alan Clayton-Matthews foresees tight Massachusetts labor market
Northeastern University economist Alan Clayton-Matthews told MassEcon members that most earners in Massachusetts will benefit at least modestly from recent U.S tax policy changes and that looking ahead the key economic constraint in the Commonwealth is a lack of labor. "In Massachusetts, most people will probably win out a little bit" as a result of the recently enacted income tax changes, Clayton-Matthews told the 2018 annual kickoff meeting of MassEcon members at a breakfast meeting. And the state will have essentially full employment through 2021, he said, but, with somewhat reduced traditional migration to the state, "Employment growth will be constrained by the number of available workers."  Read more here.

names new President/CEO
The Greater Hyannis Chamber of Commerce has named Todd Deluca as its new President /CEO.  After an intense six-month process, the Greater Hyannis Chamber of Commerce has selected Deluca to help grow the Chamber and promote Hyannis and its surrounding villages.  Read more here.

Center for Professional Education to offer free workshops on available training funds for employers
Employers, especially small business owners, routinely find themselves in the difficult position of trying to fill the gap between an employee's skills and those truly needed by the company, yet there are no training funds in the budget to do so. CCYP surveys the community
