September 2017 Edition
The SCBF has an exciting year planned.  At our August meeting our Board of Directors set significant goals to achieve this year and we are looking forward to making them happen.  Our Ambassadors and the YLD are hosting events to promote the SCBF and our wonderful grantees. Keep on the lookout for some fun events coming your way.

You can find our staff out in the community recognizing our grantee's tireless work as well as introducing and reminding the legal community about the impact they have on our grantees through financial support to the SCBF.

Because of you we are able to grow and expand our network of support. If you are interested in cementing your legacy as a Foundation for Justice and making a positive impact in South Carolina, please consider donating today

Grantee Focus: UofSC Law Veterans Legal Clinic

The University of South Carolina School of
Law Veterans Legal Clinic is one of the recipients of our Bank of America grants.

The clinic will serve a range of legal needs of indigent veterans in the state of South Carolina. The clinic will provide free, direct legal assistance on credit problems and related financial matters, housing concerns, government benefits and family law issues.

"One of the most pressing needs for many veterans is access to legal services that will help them deal with housing, debt, or domestic problems. If not addressed, these issues can affect their families negatively and may leave our veterans in poverty or even homeless. We have a large population of veterans in South Carolina. Through this clinic, our law students, working under the student practice rule, can provide many hours of professional assistance to the veterans and their families, while themselves gaining valuable professional experience." - University of South Carolina School of Law Dean Rob Wilcox.
