VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Mark Your Calendars for Vacation Bible School - June 11th-15th. VBS will run from 5:30-8:30pm each night with dinner for the first 45 minutes and regularly scheduled programming from 6:30-8:30pm. It's never too early to volunteer! We need teachers, drivers, leaders, and donations for transportation. Contact Heather

HillSong's youth are going to Winter Jam on March 24 at PNC Arena in Raleigh! Doors open at 5pm; cost is $15. We'll meet at the church before heading over. It's an all-ages event, so anyone is welcome to join.

Come and celebrate with us during Holy Week. We will be having three special services, in addition to our regular Sunday morning Worship service at 11am.
- March 29 @ 7pm - Maundy Thursday, includes a Passover demonstration led by Sheva Myers.
- March 30 @ 7pm - Good Friday, a Tenebrae service of scripture and song
- April 1 @ 6:30am - Easter Sunrise, takes place outside the front entrance (weather permitting)
The labyrinth that was set up for Ash Wednesday will once again be available for walking Monday to Friday of Holy Week, 9am to 2pm, and before the special services on Thursday and Friday nights. Instructions will be provided on how to use this ancient tool for focused meditation and prayer.

Waiting -

Abraham's wife Sarah was over 90. They had waited their entire lives for a child. Now God promised one, and they had to wait some more.
In Luke's Gospel, we know that after Jesus arrives in Jerusalem come the horrors of the cross. Luke tells us he's headed there in chapter 9, but then we have to go through 12 more chapters before he finally arrives.
The scene in Acts is the Ascension. The white-robed angels promise Jesus will return in the same way he was taken up. That was 33AD. It is now 2018AD.
Waiting.
As I write this, I am waiting for Easter. Preachers always endure a thematic adjustment from February to early April. Preaching during Lent is unlike preaching at any other time.
As I write this on a Monday, I am waiting for Saturday. I am scheduled to fly to Ethiopia for a week with some wonderful children. I will spend this week waiting for Saturday to arrive.
