PA Act 15 Background Checks and Summer Camp
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PA Act 15 requires background checks for any adult working with children or who will be having care, supervision, guidance, or control of children as part of their volunteer responsibilities.  Even parents who are "just attending camp with their child" will be interacting with other Scouts in their campsites and programs and also with camp staff members under 18.  Considering this, the Pennsylvania Dutch Council Executive Board adopted a Summer Camp Act 15 Compliance Policy requiring all adults that attend camp to meet the requirements of the law and provide proof that they have completed the required background checks as part of their camp registration. All background checks must be uploaded online before attending camp.  While this is an added step for adult camp attendees, it is the law and we must follow it. Full information on how to obtain the required background checks and how to submit them can be found at http://padutchbsa.org/act15/. Please make sure to share this with any adults from your Packs that will be attending camp so they can get these checks taken care of early!
Campership Deadline is March 15
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  The deadline for submitting Campership applications, March 15, 2018, is quickly approaching. Camperships exist to help Scouts with a financial need attend a Pennsylvania Dutch Council summer camp. Don't let a lack of funds keep your Scouts from attending camp this summer. Camperships are given based upon need and funds available. To apply, fill out and submit the Pennsylvania Dutch Council Campership Form found on our website or contact the Council Service Center to have one sent to you.
