THE  PROVIDENCE  PEN
December - February

Students enjoyed the railroading displays at Quincy Village!

DEAR FRIENDS:

The 4th Quarter of the school year is approaching, and we are determined to finish well. We are also committed to keeping you updated on the progress you have made possible.

  • 2018-19 - NEW SCHOOL YEAR ENROLLMENT - We are thankful for both familiar and new faces already enrolled for the 2018-19 school year. If you know a child who would benefit from our unique tutorial approach, please point their family in our direction. See all openings below.
  • GIFTS in MEMORY of IRENE JONES  - On behalf of the Board of Directors, Faculty, and students of the school, we are so grateful for those of you who gave in memory of Mrs. Irene Jones, a Friend of Providence indeed! She and her husband Ron have played a key role in the founding of this school, and their children continue to fulfill key roles in the growth of this ministry to the vulnerable. We loved Irene, and she loved this school. Gifts continue to flow in--a tribute to a life well-lived. If you wish, it is not too late to give in her honor. The gifts to date total $2450.00.
  • VOLUNTEER HELP NEEDED  - Perhaps you could lend your expertise to the school. Call us at (717) 298-8090 to discuss how you could change lives with your available time and talent. We specifically are praying for classroom support on a regular basis for copying and other non-teaching tasks. We also utilize tutors who can give an hour or more per week during scheduled times.
  • VOLTA HOME ORPHANAGE RECENT GRADUATION  - Teachers and students at Providence have been writing back and forth to the children at the Volta Home, and we send our warm congratulations for the recent successful graduation of their Junior High students!
  • PCA GRADUATION APPROACHING - Please mark Friday, June 1, 2018 on your calendar and plan to attend our Graduation Ceremony in the on-campus Chapel. Last year's ceremony was well-attended and a great encouragement to our graduates and families. You play a vital role in the lives of our young people, and we want you to be a part of the celebration.
  • PROVIDENCE 360 Some upcoming
events in this unique curricular approach include:
    • Tuesday, March 20 th - Explore & More Museum - Gettysburg, PA
    • Thursday Afternoons - Every other Thursday at Cumberland Valley School of Music for keyboarding lessons for Grades 4th to 12th.
    • Wednesday, April 18th - Tuscarora Wildlife Education Project - Mercersburg, PA
    • Thursday, April 26th - Washington County Rural Heritage Museum and Antietam Battlefield
    • Fridays TBA - Outdoor Adventure, fishing, canoeing, outdoor skills, and hiking
These are all wonderful opportunities for learning beyond the building.

  FRIENDS OF PROVIDENCE CAMPAIGN

Your gifts for God's work at Providence are crucial, particularly in these last few giving months of 2017-18. Please consider a gift to help us strengthen our mission to vulnerable children.  Our goal is to raise at least $30,000 in tuition assistance funds in the next few months. These funds allow children to attend who otherwise would be cut off from Christian schooling. Please be in prayer about how you might play a role in supporting our mission to provide exemplary education for the vulnerable in the light of God's Word for time and eternity. Glory to God for His all-sufficient providence!
