Project Impact:STEM & Innovation at Laguna Rd
Third graders continued their examination of forces this week by exploring magnets! Each group of students was tasked with determining the strengths of different magnets assigned to them. They devised and conducted various tests in order to rank the magnets from strongest to weakest. This gave the students an opportunity to devise their own tests and test their ideas to truly be scientists with experimental ideas.

“The United States is internationally ranked 29th in math and 22nd in science among industrialized nations.” Per a study conducted by the White House for an Educational Address.
Tech Corner
Second grade students are so excited about making Google slide presentations detailing their 2nd grade experience. Through Google slides, students are able to make mulitmedia presentations that capture their experience in all parts of second grade!
Writing Workshop
Third graders this week learned that Opinion writers try to persuade readers to agree with their point of view. Students are learning the types of words that are used to persuade readers, and what is most effective. As students form their opinions and positions on relevant topics, we will start seeing writing pieces come to life!
