Below is a listing of hearings of interest during the upcoming week:
January 28th – Monday
•
1:00 pm / HR 50:
House Committee on Human Services and Housing will be holding an informational Meeting with invited testimony from Oregon Housing and Community Services, the Oregon Housing Alliance, and the Department of Land Conservation and Development.

1:00 pm / HR A:
Senate Committee on Health Care will be holding initial public hearings on a group of mental health bills, including
SB 141, a bill that requires the Oregon Health Authority to set up a statewide mental health crisis support access line.

3:00 pm / HR D:
House Committee on Education will be holding the following hearings:
- Informational Meeting
with invited speakers only to present an “
Overview of Early Learning Division” and “
History of Early Learning Council and Hubs”
- Initial public hearing on
HB 2025, a bill relating to preschool programs that are administered by the Early Learning Division.

3:00 pm / HR B:
Senate Committee on Housing will be holding an informational meeting with invited testimony only on “
Housing Supply,” “
Barriers to Home Ownership” and “
Being a Renter.”
January 29th – Tuesday
•
8:30 am / HR F:
Joint Committee on Ways and Means, Subcommittee on Human Services will be holding an initial public hearing
with invited testimony only on
HB 5026, the budget bill for the Department of Human Services (DHS). At this first hearing, DHS will provide an “Agency Overview,” which will be followed by presentations that are specific to each office within DHS.

3:00 pm / HR B:
Senate Committee on Human Services will be holding an initial public hearing on
SB 30, a bill that details the circumstances under which a guardian can change a protected person’s living arrangements without the required 15-day notice.
January 30th – Wednesday
•
8:30 am / HR A: If you’ve always wanted to know more about how schools are financed, the
House Committee on Revenue will have an informational meeting with a “
School Financial Orientation” presentation.
January 31st – Thursday
•
1:00 pm / HR B:
Senate Committee on Human Services will be holding public hearings on a group of mental health bills, including several we’re watching:

SB 167: Aligns definitions in mental health services bill of rights with definitions applicable to reporting of abuse of persons with mental illness
(a work session is also scheduled on this bill)

SB 173: Appropriates money to expand programs serving the behavioral health needs of seniors and persons with disabilities.

SB 174: Appropriates moneys to establish a Center of Excellence on Behavioral Health for Older Adults and people with disabilities.
