SCHOOL-WIDE MITZVAH TO HONOR LESLIE SCHULTZ Z"L

Last week our community lost a campus founder and passionate advocate for Jewish education, Leslie Schultz z"l. On Friday, March 23, to commemorate the month since Leslie's passing, we will host a Siyum marking the completion of learning an entire section of Jewish text in Leslie's memory. We've chosen the tractate of Pirkei Avot because it best embodies Leslie's approach to life. Pirkei Avot teaches about interpersonal relationships and Jewish ethics, the hallmarks of Leslie's interactions with others. We ask students and their families commit to learning one or more verses from Pirkei Avot.

To participate in this special mitzvah:
  • Sign up HERE to select one or more verses to study. (Most are only a few lines.) You will then receive a digital version of the text in Hebrew and English.
  • Read the text over with your child. Discuss what it means. Consider why it is an important teaching.
  • Your child may want to create an illustration of the text. We will happily compile those into a keepsake for the Schultz family.
  • Children will participate in a ceremony in Leslie's memory on March 23.

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK IS NEXT WEEK, March 12-16!
We have several fun things planned to spoil our teachers, and we
need your help in two ways:

Volunteers
Thursday, March 15, we are treating our teachers to a luncheon at school.
In order to make time for them to go eat, we need parent volunteers for
each class to cover watching the kids during lunch. Please sign up here.

Candy
We are treating our teachers to a SWEET candy bar, but we need your help!
Please consider bringing in candy that we have assigned each grade below.
All candy is needed by Monday, March 12. You can drop them off in the box by the security desk in the main atrium, Jordana's office or box by carpool line  in front of the Lower School. Please be sure that items are individually  wrapped or in unopened packaging. For your convenience, we have  an Amazon wish list with the requested candy items.
