Dear St. John Paul II Families,
The countdown is on for Spring Break and I am sure that you all are looking forward to some much needed family time and relaxation.
As we continue the season of Lent, I want to share something I included in the faculty and staff meeting from Dynamic Catholic. It is the idea of Transformation and how it is reflective to the Lenten Season. As
“
We pray for tweaking—and then we wonder why God doesn’t answer our prayers. The reason is simple: God is not interested in tweaking. God is in the business of transformation. He wants to turn your life upside down, which as it turns out is right side up. If you want to see something incredible, start praying for transformation. That’s a prayer God will answer.
”
May your family have a blessed, safe, joy-filled holiday together!
In Him we Trust,

StJPII Students Attend Mass at St. Mary's Seminary
The 4th graders' seminarian, Jacob Ramirez, invited StJPII students to Mass which was celebrated by Cardinal DiNardo at St. Mary's last week. When StJPII students enter 3rd grade, they are introduced to a seminarian on their field trip to the seminary. This seminarian stays connected with that particular class during their time at StJPII. Thanks to Mrs. Denton for fostering these relationships and supporting vocations. Thank you to the families for bringing their students to this special Mass.

Ambassador Program for New Families
It is that time of year again…new students are registering for the 2018-2019 school year and we need YOUR help welcoming these new families!
Through our Ambassador Program, new families are assigned a current family ambassador to help make their transition into our community easier and friendlier. Ambassadors are current parents who volunteer to welcome a new family. We try to match families who have children in the same grade, same gender, and may live close to one another. One goal is to ensure each new student has at least one familiar face to greet them on the first day of school.
We need current families from ALL grade levels in addition to those with new siblings starting in Pre-K and K! We try to honor requests for bilingual ambassadors too.
Please consider sharing your love of StJPII by becoming an ambassador. Duties are minimal and can be done on your own time. All current families are eligible to volunteer!
If you are a current family and would be interested in helping a new family, please sign up on our school’s website by completing the
online form.

Each year, we try to have new and exciting games and activities for the students and we would love your input. If you have a great idea for a game or activity OR would like to help organize and improve existing games – please email
Kristen Matthews.
It takes many hands to enable Fun in the Sun to run smoothly each year and we want YOU!! For new parents or grandparents: now is your chance to get involved! If you have any questions about this event or want more information, please email your questions to

Middle School Athletics
The Varsity baseball team was very excited to play in their 1st district game last week against the St. Thomas More Tigers after so many rain outs thus far this season! Our boys started off well by taking the lead and holding it until the last inning. The Tigers were able to overcome our lead with some timely hitting. The boys will look to bounce back this week!
Our Lady Saints Softball team have had the same problem with rain outs but they squeezed in their game against the Indians from St. Cecilia pulling out their 1st district win by a score of 10-9!
Our boys Varsity and JV Lacrosse teams played against River Oaks Baptist and showed some incredible lacrosse skill with Varsity defeating them 6-4 but unfortunately JV came up short losing 4-1. We were so proud of our boys and loved the spirit and enthusiasm from our fans in our home opener for Lacrosse!
T&F will continue to train for their opening meet at the end of this month so please check the
athletic calendar
for all sports details!
Lastly, good luck to our girls as we will hold tryouts all of this week for our 2019 Cheer Squad!
