Yearbook Class Photos for Sale:
The class photos taken for the yearbook are in and hanging in the classrooms. Proofs will be available to look at and order at the next booster meeting January 30th, and the spaghetti dinner on February 3rd. $10 for each 8X10 photo, cash or check. Make checks payable to "Rowland Studios".

Parent Meeting & Volunteers Needed 

NYC Parent and Chaperone Meeting:
Wednesday, February 7th,  Chaperone Meeting at  6 pm and  Parent Meeting at  6:45 pm.

NW Regional Strings Concert: This concert February 13th, highlighting local middle and elementary students, needs parent participation for the concession stand. Please donate snacks or help at the event, and sign up HERE.

Northwest Region Strings Event: We need "day-of" parent volunteers,  Tuesday, February 13th.
We are looking for:
4-5 to help set up chairs and stands from  5:00 pm - 5:30 pm
1-2 to take photos and short videos during the event
4-5 to help stack and return chairs and stands after the event
3-4 to greet and hand out programs for the event, starting at  6:30 pm

Chamber Orchestra Preview Concert: Please join the Chamber Orchestra for a preview concert of their performance of the Shostakovich Chamber Symphony, op. 110a. Show time is Monday, February 26th at 7:30 pm in the Black Box Theater. Help us send this fabulous group off to NYC for their performance and tour; they leave for Lincoln Center on Wednesday, February 28th!
Choir
Solo & Ensemble Prep 

Pre-Solo and Ensemble Voice Recital:  On  Wednesday, February 7th , all voice students who are participating in Solo and Ensemble will sing at a recital in the Performing Arts Center. Students can sign up for either the  6:30 pm  or the  8:00 pm  recital. All families are encouraged to attend and support our singers as they prepare for Solo and Ensemble.

Solo and Ensemble:  Our regional Solo and Ensemble festival will take place  Saturday, February 10th  at Seattle Pacific University. The schedule will be released shortly. All families of participating students are encouraged to attend and listen to their students!

LA Trip:  If you haven't made your second payment, it is past due. Please pay ASAP.  Pay HERE online or by check.
Band
Congratulations Jazz 1!
It's a three-peat!  Ballard's Jazz Band 1 was named an Outstanding Jazz Ensemble at the UW Jazz Festival for three years in a row. Bravo!
 
Jazz 1 has also been invited to the Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival in March!  More information about this exciting trip  may be found HERE. The initial payment of $400 is due TODAY for both students and confirmed chaperones.   Pay on-line or checks can be made out to BPA.
 
Jazz parents should also be aware the Hot Java Cool Jazz Ticket Pre-Order Form was sent home this week. More details on this Jazz fundraiser will be announced next week.
 
Pep Band Reminder!
The   last regular season pep band performance is  tomorrowFebruary 2.  If you have not played for four of the six dates, you must attend this last regular season game. Call time is  6:30 p.m.  Black band t-shirts are required.

Come support our award-winning Wind Ensemble at their WMEA Preview Concert on  Tuesday, February 6 at 7:30 p.m.  More information about their special performance may be  found here and in the  SPS School Beat.

2/13:  Final WMEA Rehearsal ( 3:45 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.)
2/15:  Depart BHS for Yakima ( 4:00 p.m.)
2/16:  Estimated Return to BHS from Yakima ( 4:00 p.m.)

BHS Open House Reminder For Thursday, 2/8
The Marching Band will perform at the BHS Open House on  Thursday, February 8.  Call time is  6:00 p.m. Band members will be in full uniform, including the black band t-shirt and long black socks.  Students will be dismissed at  7:00 p.m.
 
We need two more parents to help with uniforms.  Please  sign up here if you can spare an hour of your time in support of the Band. Thank you!
