Latest IMPACT Highlights Mid-Level Developmental Assessment (MLDA)
MLDA IMPACT Report
A Better Way to Assess Developmental Needs in Early Childhood Systems: Mid-Level Developmental Assessment  examines  how
Connecticut and communities in four other states are using a new model of assessment to improve care for young children with mild to moderate behavioral and developmental concerns. Most of these children would not qualify for publicly funded intervention services and could be at risk for arriving at kindergarten without essential developmental skills to succeed.

The IMPACT report was featured in a WNPR story and on AdvancingKids.org
CHDI and CT Health Foundation Team Up to Address Pediatric Primary Care Payment Reform
CHDI is collaborating with the Connecticut Health Foundation to support a study group that is working to develop new models to pay for pediatric primary care. The work has a very simple goal: find ways to ensure that the way we pay for pediatric primary care encourages health promotion and prevention practices that will improve lifelong outcomes for children. The group includes includes health care providers, insurance companies, and officials from state health agencies.

Learn more about this work in a two part guest blog series prepared for the Connecticut Health Foundation, by CHDI's VP for Health Initiatives  Lisa Honigfeld .
Implementing Connecticut's Behavioral Health Plan for Children
The Connecticut Health Foundation  is  supporting  CHDI to lead  implementation of critical components of  Connecticut's Behavioral Health Plan for Children. The funding will examine and help align financial support for the delivery of behavioral health services in Connecticut. The grant funding will also help identify, expand, and align behavioral health screening and early identification activities, so children with needs can be identified early and connected to services. Currently, many settings that serve children - such as schools and pediatric primary care offices - do not consistently screen for behavioral health conditions, leading many children to fall through the cracks and miss out on helpful therapeutic services.
