Looking Ahead To SCA Field Day
The time is now to begin planning for the 2018 SCA Field Day! We have an amazing itinerary scheduled for our trip to Columbus, OH this August. Take a look and save the date!
Date: Wednesday, August 8
Time: 9:15 AM - 3:30 PM
Cost: TBD
This year, we are honored to visit our own Chris Ahlum, SCA Board President, on his home turf! We will be touring the headquarters for Ahlum & Arbor Facility in Columbus. We will be highlighting history of a family business that has been in operation for the last 40 years. Attendees will discuss the layout of the facility, built in 2012, and the operations of the company. Visiting local arborists has been a highlight of many past SCA tours, and we can't wait for you to visit our Board President's company!
Additionally, we will be visiting the Franklin Park Conservatory and getting a 'behind the scenes' look at the brand new (opening in May 2018) Children's Garden, discussing the focus on tree preservation throughout the development process. This discussion will include the garden design, building scopes, how construction was planned around trees, and the after care for both existing and new trees. Attendees will also have a chance to peruse the Conservatory either alone or on a guided tour.
