PETERSBURG - Southside Regional Medical Center (SRMC) on Tuesday held a ribbon cutting for their new Electrophysiology Laboratory.

The new lab -- which has been sought after by SRMC doctors for the past nine years -- opened in December and is the first lab of its kind south of Interstate 288 and all the way to the North Carolina border, according to SRMC CEO Trent Nobles.

The Electrophysiology Laboratory allows doctors to use an advanced digital X-ray imaging system to see extremely detailed, real-time images of patient anatomy during procedures that require exacting precision.
