Beth El Social Action Committee Winter Mitzvah Drive
Please join us, from now through March 4th, in collecting non-perishable food items (cans, pasta, rice, cereal, etc.), toiletries (soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc.), school supplies (pencils, notebooks, markers, rulers, etc.) and household cleaners (dish detergent, laundry detergent, floor cleaning products, etc.) to benefit the Community Crisis Center in honor of Purim. Join us to hear Eric Collier speak about the Africa Mercy Ship. Many people in  Africa  have little to no access to healthcare. The Africa Mercy Ship brings volunteer medical teams  and sterile operating rooms directly to people who would otherwise go without care. The book chosen for Rabbi Steven Schwartz's review is Behold The Dreamers by Imbolo Mbue.  This book centers on an African family who finds themselves involved with an American family in their effort to assimilate. Their lives are dramatically upended as the immigrants are forced to make an impossible choice. The cost of the luncheon and presentation is $12.00.

We offer a ten-session class for parents, grandparents, or special friends who would like to learn how to read Hebrew. These classes are also for those who would like to refresh reading skills in order to support their children's reading from a Siddur or any Hebrew text.
