Generosity and holiday spirit were in bloom at the annual Bordine's Holiday Extravaganza in Rochester, benefiting Assistance League® of Southeastern Michigan's philanthropic programs. These longstanding organizations provided festivities for 500 guests who shop for a cause, and in turn, donate abundantly to the community.
During the fun-filled event, Bordine's President Calvin Bordine presented Assistance League with a check for $7,500. "Our heartfelt appreciation to Bordine's for their generosity and continued support in our mission to provide clothing, food, educational support and comfort for those in need," said Nancy Troyer, Assistance League President. "Together, we strive to make a difference in the lives of many children and adults year-round."
Bordine's Holiday Extravaganza featured food samples from local restaurants, wine-tasting, vendors, creative holiday displays, music, goodie bags, games, prizes, and shopping at Bordine's holiday winter wonderland. Raffle tickets were awarded to guests who brought warm winter accessories, amounting to an additional donation of 1,100 hats and gloves for children.
Both Assistance League and Bordine's are based in the Rochester Hills area, but their community impact reaches throughout Southeastern Michigan. Assistance League has been serving communities since 1993 through their many programs and nonprofit ReSale Connection store.
Bordine's, the largest family-owned grower and retail Garden Center in Michigan, has been providing customers with Bordine-grown plants for over 75 years.
