M.W. Watermark had another record-breaking year in 2017 - and we couldn't have done it without you!

We want to thank all of our customers for the opportunity to work together. 

We also want to thank our valuable supplier partners for their great service.

M.W. Watermark is the North American leader in filter press manufacturing. On top of that, we are the only company in the world who manufactures and sells new and rebuilt filter presses, clarifiers, sludge dryers, polymer blenders and DAFs - and also manufactures custom filter press cloths in-house.  

This is in addition to providing parts and service for all these different types of equipment. 

However, M.W. Watermark is more than just what we manufacture and sell, or how we do it. We always try to focus on why we do what we do. We want to make a difference in the world. And it starts locally. We are a family-owned company with deep roots in the West Michigan area. 

As we try to make a difference in the world by helping to keep our shared, finite water supply clean and usable for generations to come, we start close to home. The entire M.W. Watermark Team shares a vision and it shows by the difference that we make together in our local community. 

Each year we set very enthusiastic goals for community outreach projects, charity work, and fundraising. Then, the awesome Watermark Team always steps up and exceeds expectations!

Making a difference with community involvement and company events...

M.W. Watermark is proud to participate in activities that benefit our local community. 

Annual Pink Week 

October was breast cancer awareness month. October 9 through 13 was Pink Week at M.W. Watermark. For every day during this week that each employee wore pink, $10 was earned to be donated to City On A Hill (COAH). 

COAH is a non-profit organization in Zeeland that provides pelvic and clinical breast exams for uninsured and underinsured women. Referrals are available for screening mammograms. 

M.W. Watermark also ran a special fundraising promotion during the month of October where 5% of all filter cloth sales would also be donated to COAH.

Between the full participation of our employees during Pink Week and our filter cloth fundraiser, M.W. Watermark was able to donate over $5,000 to COAH.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

Every November, M.W. Watermark holds a Thanksgiving Food Drive for the Community Action House in Holland. A list of items needed is posted in the employee break room, and Watermark employees donate food to fill the baskets.

This organization had a goal of feeding 1,000 families this past season, and the Watermark staff stepped up to help make this goal a reality for our community. 

Ginny's Place - The Center for Women in Transition

In December, M.W. Watermark held a donation drive for Ginny's Place, which is a safe shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children. Each year, approximately 150 women and children stay in the shelter, from 10 days to 3 months. They are incredibly grateful to those who provide the needed supplies to help keep the shelter running, and the Watermark team played a large role in this effort. 

Collection for the Harbor Humane Society

This past Summer, M.W. Watermark held a collection for the Harbor Humane Society. It costs $20 per day to house a healthy animal (and most are not healthy when they arrive). In caring for the animals, they also use the following each year: 7,800 lbs. of dog food, 5,200 lbs. of cat food and 20,800 lbs. of kitty litter. This organization was grateful for the generous donations of supplies and checks from the Watermark staff. 

Men's Business Casual Clothing Collected for 70x7

70x7 Life Recovery provides mentorship, employment, job skills/life skills training and recovery support for men who have previously been incarcerated. M.W. Watermark collected two large boxes of business casual clothing that these men can wear to job interviews.

Company Christmas Party 

Our annual Christmas party is one way that we show appreciation for our staff and includes a dinner, games and prizes. 

We had a great turnout this past December, with nearly all of our employees attending. 

Ugly Christmas Sweater Day

December 15th was National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day, and we held a company-wide event to celebrate!

Pre-Thanksgiving "Stuffing"

The staff here at M.W. Watermark often feels like one big family - and nothing says "family" more than a meal where all employees contribute by bringing their own specialty dishes to share.

Chili Cook-Off

There was a lot of excitement around our annual Watermark chili cook-off on October 19th. Seven pots of chili were entered, with lots of variety and some incredible flavors represented. Cash prizes were awarded for the top three places, based on popular vote. In the photo below, a table is set up with everything needed for sampling chili, including crackers, cheese and sour cream.

Employee Golf Outing

Every year for the past several years, Watermark takes an afternoon in the Fall to hold a golf outing for the entire company, complete with a catered BBQ dinner, door prizes and awards. Again, it's all focused on team-building and rewarding our staff with a fun day out for all of their contributions.

14-Year Anniversary Luncheon

M.W. Watermark's 14-year anniversary was July 11th. To celebrate, the entire staff was provided with a special luncheon. Below left we see Owner/President Mike on grill duty.

Company Cookouts

M.W. Watermark held our first cookout of the season on February 2nd. This time of the year is still Winter in Michigan, but the team was ready for a cook-out, so we didn't let the snow and ice stop us. We rolled the grill into the welding area of the shop and made good use of the ceiling exhaust fan. 

Company-wide cookouts are a common occurrence here at Watermark, and we hold BBQ events on a regular basis. In fact, the early-season cookout shown above was quickly followed up with a full-blown employee appreciation luncheon in early May. This time Mike grilled his famous BBQ chicken!

Social Hours

As part of a reward for a job well-done, and to help Watermark staffers get to know each other even better, small groups are taken out on occasion for appetizers and drinks.
