The Gates Fun Run Program is Off and Running!

Over the last few days our school has had a blast participating in the Gates Fun Run program. As our biggest fundraiser of the year, we hope to raise $20,000 for Gates School, but we need your help to reach this goal. The easiest way to get pledges is to first register your child on funrun.com with our school registration code 739969 . Then on your student's dashboard, click the share on Facebook button to connect with friends, family, co-workers, and more. Families who do raise more!

Students have been so excited to receive fitness rewards for all their hard work. In addition, each grade has in classroom prizes for kids ranging from stickers and pencils all the way up to an in class movie!

Please check out our Gates Fun Run webpage for more information and the latest updates. We still need parent volunteers the day of the Fun Run to pass our water and mark laps off, so please sign up here if you are interested in helping out. Don't forget to come and cheer on your child at the Gates Fun Run Day Friday, October 20th. Here are the times for each grade:

  • Grades K-2 will start at 9:30
  • Grades 3-6 will start at 10:45

If you have any questions please contact Naomi Phaneuf and Donna Harrington. Thanks in advance for supporting the Gates School. Every pledge counts!

The Harvest Festival is Right Around the Corner

Formerly the Fall Family Social, the Harvest Festival is a new event featuring a pumpkin contest, a pie walk, a bake sale, fun fall games, a selfie pumpkin station, donuts on a string contest, and more! This event will be taking place on Friday 11/03/17 at the Gates School.

If you are interested in helping run crafts, games, and food please sign up. We need all the volunteers we can get!

The Gates School Directory is Here!

While the Gates School Directory has previously only been available for hardcopy, it is now free and paperles s to all families at Gates courtesy of the Gates School PTO. Please download a copy of the Gates Elementary School 2017-2018 Students and Families Directory . The Gates School PTO believes that having contact information available is the best way to foster community and friendships outside of the classroom.

Please note, this information should not be distributed outside of the Gates community, and is solely for the use of the Gates community.  All information provided was pulled from Power School, and is only made available by permissions granted in Power School.

If you would like your family's information updated or changed, please let Directory Chair Kara Bayer know. If there are enough corrections and updates to warrant, the PTO may choose to issue an updated Directory at the end of the first term.

Physical Education Night

The Elementary Physical Education staff is holding Physical Education Night for Gates School on November 8, 2017 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Gates gymnasium. The goal is to educate the community on the most current practices used in today's elementary physical education and allow your family the opportunity to practice and demonstrate developmentally appropriate activities.

Please remember to wear clothing appropriate for movement. This event is for school-aged children only. We're looking forward to seeing you soon.
If you have any questions please contact Physical Education instructor Jill Reed.
