Free Transit for SCC Students!

Solano Community College (SCC) students can ride SolanoExpress and three local transit system buses for FREE through Feb. 28th. STA is coordinating with three transit operators and SCC to offer reduced fares each semester. During this initial trial period, students can show their SCC Student ID and ride FREE on Vacaville City Coach, FAST and SolTrans local and SolanoExpress buses!! 
New STA Chair/Vice Chair

Suisun City Mayor Pete Sanchez was voted in to serve as the 2018 STA Board Chair on January 10th. Fairfield Mayor Harry Price was voted in to serve as the 2018 STA Board Vice Chair.
CTP Arterials, Highways, and Freeways Draft Element Review

On January 10, 2018 the STA Board released the Arterials, Highways, and Freeways Draft Element of the Solano Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) for public review. Comments may be submitted by February 9, 2018. The Arterials, Highways and Freeways Element is the STA's foundational document for planning and maintaining the major roadway network that connects Solano's communities with each other and with the broader region.   
I-80 Economic Analyses

STA, in partnership with the Solano Economic Development Corporation (EDC), completed a study of the economic impacts as a result of major transportation projects on the I-80 Corridor.  The I-80 Corridor Project Analyses Study estimates that over $740 million in combined construction spending will create over $1.003 billion in economic impacts in the local and statewide economy. This includes over 5,700 jobs and $35 million in state and local tax revenues. Read more and view the PowerPoint presentation and the full economic study. 
2018 Legislative Platform Adopted

The STA 2018 Legislative Platform was adopted by the STA Board on January 10, 2018. One of the priorities for 2018 will be highlighting the multiple benefits to local streets and roads, highway maintenance and regional transit in Solano County by the recent passage of SB1. The Legislative Platform provides policy guidance on State and Federal transportation legislation and the STA’s legislative activities. View and download the Legislative Platform .
V allejo Mobility Summit RSVP Date Extended

In partnership with the STA’s Solano Mobility Program, the City of Vallejo is hosting the Mobility Summit for Seniors and People with Disabilities on Thursday, February 8 th from 10 am to 1 pm at the Florence Douglas Senior Center, 333 Amador Street. STA wants to hear from Vallejo residents about their mobility needs. Free transit is provided by SolTrans, and complementary lunch will be provided by J and O’s Market and Deli.  Registration is REQUIRED . Call 800-535-6883 to register by February 6 th !!
Bob Macaulay Retires

 STA wishes to congratulate Bob Macaulay who retired this month after 11 years as STA’s Director of Planning. 
  • Bob served as the facilitator for the Solano County Planning Director’s Group and moderator for the Bay Area Congestion Management Agency Planning Directors. 
  • Bob spearheaded the update of the Solano Comprehensive Transportation Plan.
  • He oversaw the development criteria for the One Bay Area Grant 1 and 2 planning process.
  • He coordinated the funding and creation of five Priority Development Area Plans, and the Solano Countywide Priority Conservation Area Plan, the first in the Bay Area.
