Ash Wednesday Service
Wednesday, Feb 14 @ 7pm

Join us for a midweek worship service that marks the beginning of Lent, a 40 day season of preparation for Easter. Lent gives us an opportunity to reflect upon our humanness, our need for forgiveness and our connection to Christ's last days. The service will include the imposition of ashes and a prayer labyrinth. For convenience, dinner will be provided at 5:45pm.

Chinese New Year Celebration

HillSong Church will be hosting, for the first time, a celebration of Chinese New Year.
Why are we holding this event?
To extend hospitality to the Chinese community in our area, to reach out to people we have not met yet. This will be a fun opportunity for HillSong folks to meet new people and learn new things.
How will our celebration be unique?
Chinese New Year is celebrated in many ways in the Triangle each year. Our event will be unique because not only will newcomers to this celebration get to experience Chinese traditions, but will also receive descriptions and explanations for a better understanding of their significance.
What will I get to do if I come? Will there be things my children can do?
There will be something for everyone! There will be five areas to explore: Performances on Stage, Food & Tea Sampling, Hands-on Cultural Activities, an Art Exhibition, and a Video Viewing Area to learn more about Chinese culture. (Details about the Performers and the Hands-on Activities will be listed on the HillSong website).
How much will this cost?
Admission is free, but there is a suggested donation of $10 for each adult.
Who may come?
Everyone -you, your friends and family, co-workers, neighbors.

The Procession -

I imagine a great parade, a procession full of color, music, pageantry, and the greatest of human glory. Picture the "parade of nations" at the opening of the summer Olympics. Now envision it on scale 100 times larger.
"And I saw the holy city, the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. ... And the kings of the world will enter the city in all their glory. And all the nations will bring their glory and honor into the city" (Revelation 21:2, 24b, 26).
When reading a passages like this one, does it make you pause? Similar ideas are found in the Psalms and Isaiah. The great potentates of the world, the emperors and czars and presidents, will come as those paying tribute to one much greater than themselves: God. Do you ever stop and try to picture it?
