 Becoming a champion leader will not only inspire others but will assure the success of your chapter.
You are not born a champion, you become one. A champion leader has the desire, dedication, determination and the will to win. He/she loves growth and is not happy with the status quo. A champion leader puts the chapter member at the center of everything by always asking the question,
"How will this impact our members?"
Everyone knows that the greatest champions learn how to keep winning and are never complacent. Champion leaders want the best people on their team and do not feel threatened by a team member's success.
How you can become a champion leader
- Know that leading is not just about being in charge. It is about staying motivated and motivating others.
- Be aware that the attitude of any group takes on the attitude of its leader.
- People do what people see. If members see your commitment, they will follow your example and do likewise.
- Communicate passion and integrity. Authenticity is essential if people are to trust and follow you.
- Address issues promptly and directly.
- Create a sense of urgency.
- Always address the good, the bad, and the ugly.
- Create a championship culture.
- As in sports, manage your talent and remember that becoming a champion leader happens months in advance of getting to GOLD- you need to receive some early wins.
- Develop innovative methods of reaching the millenials
