Algae Blooms

This "green slime" is not always a bad sign. Most algae found in LWDD canals is not harmful to human health and provides a food source for aquatic life.
Controlling Aquatic Plants

Managing aquatic vegetative growth within LWDD's 500 miles of canals is a monumental task. Using both mechanical and chemical methods h elp to make the task more efficient.
If You See Something - Report It

Residents are encouraged to use the District's online reporting form to inform us of canal maintenance that may be needed or other issues that may pose a safety or flooding risk.

Dollars and Cents

LWDD is continually making enhancements to its Aquatic Plant Management Program to increase effiencies and decrease costs. We recently installed a new electronic inventory process that saves time and reduces paper.
