HOW DID YOU COME IN?
Then he ordered all who could swim to jump overboard first and make for land, and he told the others to try for it on planks and debris from the broken ship. So everyone escaped safely ashore. Acts 27: 43,44, NLT Paul, The Apostle was required to sail to Rome to stand trial before Caesar because he was accused of being an insurrectionist. But during his journey, he and the other sailors experienced several days of rough sailing. Eventually his ship sank, and while some of the crew swam safely to shore, others arrived on the planks and debris from the broken ship. Like Paul, was your journey to get to another year not as smooth as you expected it to be? Did you experience some days of rough sailing while on your "ship" of life that caused you to feel like you were going to sink? Was your life constantly smashed by the forceful waves of problems? While we cannot expect our life journeys to always be one of smooth sailing, we can expect God to take good care of us along the way, so whether you swam in to another year or came in on planks and debris, you made it. Thank God for bringing you safely ashore! Sharing the Word, Jeaninne Prayer: Father, even though I may have arrived on planks and debris, thank you for allowing me to see another year. Amen. |
