Place Your Vote at the Pizza Bake-Off Set for Monday, January 22 
 
Fresh, hot pizza will be served all evening, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the 4th Annual West Park Pizza Bake-Off on Monday January 22. Join the fun inside the Saint Patrick Catholic Church gym, 4427 Rocky River Drive.Tickets include all-you-can-eat pizza and a drink. A 50" LED Smart TV with Roku will be raffled off, too. This year pre-sale tickets are available at participating pizza shops, and cost $10 for adults (13 and older) and $5 for children (ages 5 to 12). Pre-event tickets are available at the church rectory during normal business hours (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Tuesday and Thursday, from 9 a.m. to noon). The rectory is closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m. Tickets at the door cost $12 for adults and $6 for children, but children younger than 5 dine free. Guests will vote for West Park's Best Pizza: Peoples Choice. Celebrity judges Ross Keller, owner of Italian Creations, Patty Harken of FOX 8 in the Morning, Carmen Angelo WTAM News Radio 1100, and Seth Williams from WTAM's Mike Trivisonno show, will crown West Park's Best Pizza. Join a Workshop on Health, Community, and Climate Action
 
A series of ten neighborhood workshops will take place at various times and locations throughout the city to connect health, community, and quality of life to climate action. Join your neighbors to develop ideas and connect them with resources for action. Learn how to fund project ideas and earn up to $5,000 in support per neighborhood project through the Cleveland Climate Action Fund.

Jimmy John's Sandwich Shop Opened This Week
 
There's a new place offering sandwich options here in West Park. Jimmy John's is now open at 17510 Lorain Avenue, serving gourmet sandwiches from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week.
 
"This is our second store, and our team is excited to serve fresh, fast, and tasty sandwiches to a new set of customers in the area," said owner Anand Patel.

Founded in 1983 by Jimmy John Liataud in Charleston, Illinois, the franchise is one of the fastest growing in the U.S. with more than 2,700 locations across 43 states. Citizen Police Academy Starts April 4  
 
Have you ever wanted to ride along with the police or go to the police firing range? If so, here's your chance! The Cleveland Division of Police will conduct a Citizen Police Academy beginning Wednesday, April 4. The seven-week information course, sponsored by the City of Cleveland, meets weekly from 6 to  9 p.m. and is designed to provide insights into the nature of police work.    
 
Officer Tim Riley will conduct the classes in our Community Room on five consecutive Wednesdays beginning April 4. The final two classes will be off site. Successful completion of the course makes participants eligible for a police ride-along to witness police work in action. Apply by calling Officer Riley at 216-623-3335.
