Now Deemed a "New Start," GPS IIIF May Face More Delays
A decision by the Department of Defense (DoD) may be what's holding up action on the Air Force's $10 billion plan to build 22 new GPS IIIF satellites and could increase the chances of further, perhaps substantial, delays. ( more)

In order to maintain a high percentage of uptime with high bandwidth communication, Skytech relies on VectorNav's VN-200 GPS-Aided Inertial Navigation System (GPS/INS) for critical position and attitude data to minimize antenna pointing error.  
 
European Space Agency Ushers in 2018 
The opening of the New Year at the European Space Agency (ESA) came in the wake of another spectacular launch for Europe's GNSS program; last December, four Galileo satellites were lifted into space from Kourou, French Guyana, on board the thundering Ariane 5 launcher, by all accounts leaving witnesses awestruck.  ( more )

New Report Recommends British GNSS Protections, Efforts May Soon Surpass Those in U.S. 
Experts who studied GNSS vulnerabilities for the British government recommended GNSS receiver standards, the possible banning of jammers and the establishment of a terrestrial backup in case satellite navigation is disrupted. ( more )
