– The Scarsdale Forum Education Committee invites residents to learn more about the upcoming school bond referendum on
Thursday, February 1, at 7:30 pm, at Scarsdale Village Hall (1001 Post Road)
. Scarsdale School Superintendent Thomas Hagerman, Assistant Superintendent for Business and Facilities Stuart Mattey, Board of Education President Bill Natbony and Board Vice President Scott Silberfein will discuss the proposal in detail and address questions, ahead of the
public vote
on
Thursday, February 8
.
Kevin Walsh, an architect from BBS, and Chuck Bastian from BPD (the District's municipal finance advisor) will also be joining the panel.
The meeting will allow voters to find out, first hand, the purpose of the bond and scope of projects it will cover, as well as the financial implications of the proposal.
Education Committee Co-Chair Mayra Kirkendall-Rodríguez stated, “We are very grateful that members of the Scarsdale school administration and board of education will discuss the upcoming bond referendum at this Forum event. We are pleased that residents will be able to hear from an architect and the school district's municipal advisor about the school bond. This is a great opportunity for residents to have a conversation about the educational, safety and fiscal objectives that the school bond issue addresses.”
Education Committee Co-Chair Carlos Ramírez reminds residents that, “This event is free and open to the public. Membership in the Scarsdale Forum is not required to attend. We are pleased to provide our neighbors with a means to learn more about this important proposal, and reflect on where our school district is and where we want it to be.”
