The Rolls-Royce Crosspointe facility in Virginia is a center of excellence for the manufacture of precision-engineered engine components for some of the most advanced aircraft in the world. Located on 1,000 acres of land, 30 miles south of Richmond, it is the first Rolls-Royce manufacturing facility built from the ground up in the U.S. The first advanced manufacturing facility, the Rotatives Factory, began production in 2011. A second production factory, the Advanced Airfoil Machining Facility, began producing Turbine Blades and Nozzle Guide Vanes in 2014. 

 
Service Center Metals to Create 58 New Jobs

RICHMOND -
Governor Terry McAuliffe today announced that Service Center Metals (SCM), a manufacturer of aluminum extrusions, will invest $45.2 million to expand manufacturing capabilities at its headquarters operation in the SouthPoint Business Park in Prince George County. Virginia successfully competed against Indiana for the project, which will create 58 new jobs.  
 
Service Center Metals was founded in 2002 by Scott Kelley (CEO), Randy Weis and Chip Dollins, three former Reynolds Metals Co. executives, and started operations in July 2003 in Prince George, Virginia.  
$12.65M in Federal and State Funds to be used for Apprentice Academy at CCAM

Construction work is expected to start within a year on an apprentice academy in Prince George County that will train people for skilled jobs in manufacturing.
 
Expected to be complete by 2020, the apprentice academy will accept as many as 200 people at a time for training programs that will include machinery, welding and mechatronics.
