DWPC Clubhouse
Member Program Brunch: $15 per person

Designed to please a cook with round bottom for efficient beating.

You probably laughed at this sentence, but are you able to tell a colleague or a client why it is faulty, what grammatical term is used to describe it, and how to fix it?  If you need to learn, relearn, or brush up on some aspects of grammar, join Alice Levine for an amusing and educational review of common errors in grammar, including agreement and antecedent mishaps, misplaced modifiers, missteps in restrictive and nonrestrictive phrases and clauses, faulty pronouns, and comma blunders.

For 20 years, Alice Levine held the position of copy chief and freelance services coordinator at Westview Press. Today, as sole proprietor of Alice Levine Editorial Services, she works with publishers, writers, academics, literary agents, and business and professional organizations. Alice delights in sharing her passion for publishing, editing, proofreading, and the serial comma as well as the joy of working with words and writers.

Book signing with Holly Arnold Kinney
Thursday, February 22, 2018   6:00 -7:00 p.m.
DWPC Clubhouse; open to the public;

Holly Arnold Kinney, proprietress of the infamous Fort Restaurant, was raised in Morrison, Colorado, in the adobe structure her father Sam'l Arnold built as an exact replica of Bent's Old Fort (originally located near La Junta, Colorado.)  At a young age, Holly spent time in the kitchen of The Fort, helping to run what would become a world renowned restaurant. The Colorado institution recently celebrated 50 years and remains one of the top culinary and historic experiences in the nation.

In 2016, Holly published Sissy Bear at The Fort, a delightful true tale about a bear rescued by the Arnold family that came to live at the restaurant. Holly will discuss and read from this charming children's book, which will also be available for sale.

Special Event - No RSVP required.
