The Road Less Traveled
Do you ever pull an old book off the shelf and feel like you've reconnected with an old friend? That happened to me this week when I stumbled on a book called Understanding God's Will. The book was written way back in 2004 by the late Kyle Lake, who was the pastor of...

Epiphany Prison Ministry

February 16-19, Brownwood, Texas
Epiphany Ministry volunteers go into our juvenile prisons to share the love of Jesus Christ with incarcerated youth.  How you can help:
  • Sign up at the Connection Center to be part of the prayer chain, to pray for the boys who will attend Epiphany weekend.
  •  Purchase a meal ticket for only $5.00.  Each ticket will provide a lunch and a reminder to an incarcerated teen that he is not forgotten.
Thank-you for your support of these young souls.
Sunday School Teachers

We are in need of Sunday School teachers for 4th grade and Area 56.  Subs are also needed for all grade levels. Lesson plans are sent to the teachers on Tuesdays and ALL materials are ready in the classroom on Sunday morning.  Lesson plans are scripted, so there is very little prep.  We are asking for volunteers to teach only 1-2 Sundays per month. Please contact Jennifer McDaniel.

Children's Ministry Mission

This month, Children's Ministry will be collecting items to make Sunshine Boxes. Sunshine Boxes are boxes containing items that are yellow or have yellow packaging and we hope they will bring a bit of sunshine to those experiencing grief or illness.Examples of items for the boxes include, lotion in a yellow bottle, lemon candy, facial tissue in a yellow package, a yellow candle, etc. We will be collecting yellow items through the month of January. Please drop off donations in the marked bin in the Narthex.

On the Go Devo

Sometimes life keeps you away from church on Sunday, but that doesn't mean you have to miss out.  Our weekly ON THE GO DEVO keeps you talking about what your church family is talking about, even if you can't be here.  You can subscribe to have the DEVO delivered to your mobile device each week by texting ONTHEGO to 68398.

Are you taking advantage of electronic giving?
When we join the church, we pledge to support the life and ministry of the church with our financial gifts. That can get complicated on those weeks when we can't be here as the offering plate comes around. But through electronic giving, you remain faithful to your membership vows, even on those weeks when life takes you elsewhere. It's easy. It's safe. And it benefits both you and your church family. Setting it up is easy and only takes a few minutes. Contact Shari Birchell at sharibirchell@aledoumc.org to set up an automatic transfer from your checking account. Or go to aledoumc.org/give to use your credit or debit card.
