Seminole Ridge High School's lip dubs have become a yearly tradition, one the Palm Beach County community has readily embraced.  The 2018 edition, released earlier this month, has been viewed more than 80,000 times on the District's Facebook page alone. Choice Program Application Deadline Extended through February 2
The window to apply for a Choice program for the 2018-2019 school year has been extended through February 2, 2018.

This extended deadline does not apply to the December 1, 2017 deadline for Arts programs requiring auditions.  Learn more...

Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! was a great success in Palm Beach County, and local Barnes & Noble stores did their part to ensure students had access to new books that will help them grow as readers.

Shattering Records: $9M+ in Scholarships Awarded During HBCU/HSI Recruitment Tour
The District's annual Historically Black College-University and Hispanic Serving Institution (HBCU/HSI) Recruitment Tour held last week at the Palm Beach County Convention Center was another huge success, with 1,570 college acceptances given and $9,275,500 in scholarships awarded. Students Drum Up Excitement as District's Accreditation Review Begins

After months of preparation and planning, the School District of Palm Beach County will undergo its re-accreditation process through AdvancED from January 28-31.

Members of the accreditation review team of AdvancedEd were welcomed to the District office Monday with a performance from the Lincoln Elementary School Drumline. Reviewers from AdvancED will also visit several schools, meeting with principals, teachers, and students. Read more...

Don' t Miss These Important Activities and Events!

   
The School District of Palm Beach County will observe Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day on Friday, February 2. Businesses and organizations throughout Palm Beach County are encouraged to show students how their classroom lessons apply in the workplace.

Students from kindergarten through 12th grade may participate in the event. Parents are encouraged to notify their child's school if their child will be absent from school to participate. Absences will be considered excused. Learn more...


Circle February 17 on your calendar!  The School District of Palm Beach County has partnered with the  West Palm Beach Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. to bring the 2018 Educational Summit to  Palm Beach Lakes Community High School!

The event will include sessions on planning for college, setting the stage for academic success, mental health, financial aid/planning and much more! Free breakfast and lunch will be provided. Participants must register for the summit by emailing

One essay could be the key to four years of college tuition for your child!

The  Florida Prepaid College Foundation is a proud sponsor of Governor Rick Scott's  Black History Month student essay contest - "A Celebration of Innovative African-American Leaders." This year's topic is about an African-American scientist, inventor, scholar or educator, and their influence on the state of Florida. Three lucky winners will be selected to receive a 4-Year Florida College Plan scholarship from the Florida Prepaid College Foundation.

To enter the contest, students must write a 500-word (max) essay on the topic and submit it by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018.
