Over And Over Again
The 1993 movie Groundhog Day, starring Bill Murray portrayed a weatherman who relived Groundhog Day, February 2nd, over and over again, until he changed his style and became more of a caring person. Do you sometimes feel as if you are reliving your business life over and over again each day? Do you come in the office every day and shuffle the same set of papers and files on your desk repeatedly? Are you working harder and enjoying it less? Have your revenues reached a flat line or maybe are even going backwards? Do you struggle each month to meet payroll? Maybe you should step back and take a look at your overall business operation. If you have not done so already, you also may want to consider completing a "Personal Purpose" assessment and begin to line up your personal life with your business life.
The Positive Impact Of Emphatic Listening In Creating Deep Relationships

By John N. Younker, PhD, a Silver Fox Advisor
Seek first to understand, then you will be understood when you speak. ~ Steven Covey
Empathetic Listening is an essential ingredient in all relationships. The essence of good listening is empathy. Empathy is the act of understanding and sharing the feelings, thoughts and experiences of another person. While it may not always be easy to put ourselves in the shoes of the other person, empathy is a vital part of any good relationship.
While as coaches, we understand the importance of empathic (or active listening), in too many situations - romantic relationships and Coach-Coachee relationships, we lose sight of just how important the skill of empathetic listening is to the health of the relationship.
A coach can learn the most about their coachee, by deep listening, with no judgment and attachment. How deeply a coach listens to the coachee, will critically affect the quality and results of the coaching relationship, and in successfully promoting the coachee's self-awareness and learning.

Monthly Marketing Tip

The Sales Person's Curse
Ever get caught in the trap of telling a prospect all your features and benefits only to find out later they really weren't interested in buying? Or, perhaps, you brought up a feature and benefit only to learn that the prospect had problems with that very thing before? Ever have one of those sale calls where you felt like you did all the talking? If you have, you are overselling and that is the Sales Person's Curse. Selling is not just you talking but you asking good questions to learn the prospect's problems. In fact, 70% of the talking should be done by the prospect. Sales people are problem solvers, not information givers. Ask questions and avoid "The Sales Person's Curse."t
