A Sad Passing...
It is with a heavy heart that I am sharing the sad news of the passing of my dear brother and Diane's dear husband, Albert Blumenthal, on Tuesday, January 23rd 2018 at the age of 85.

Although Albert lived for many years on the West Coast, we stayed constantly in touch. We were not only siblings, we were fast friends. My thanks go to Diane for taking such meticulous care of Al. Married for 50 years, they were truly in love with one another.

This passing is an indication that survivors of the Holocaust are rapidly dwindling-the average age of our people is 87. Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center in Jerusalem, estimates that on any given day, 40 survivors pass away. On that Tuesday, Al was one of the 40. That means that in a decade, there will be no one left to give a first-hand account.

It therefore has become especially important, vital, and incumbent on those of us who are able, to continue our travels, to share our stories and lessons learned from that dark period of our history.

May Albert's memory serve all of us as a blessing and may he forever rest in peace.
Love, Marion
