Update from the CRC
It's that time of year ... and I love it! It's the 3 months prior to our regional convention, the time when there is a flurry of chorus and quartet activity. Yes, there will also be an occasional snow flurry, a touch of blowing, cold, slushy and windy weather, but so what!!!! Region 16 is made up of a hardy dedicated group of women, we can handle that! For the most part, unless it is a true hazard, we will make our way to our rehearsals, retreats and coaching sessions and better yet ... we'll love every moment of being there!
We will focus on the music at hand and forget the world outside of the rehearsal hall.
By now, plans are well underway for
Convention
XLIII and now is the time to be sure that you have the correct contact information submitted to Sue Heighway, Convention Communication Coordinator. E-Blasts and additional information will be forthcoming. Although the information is made available to all regional members, only the chorus leader/president, CCL, and/or director are expected to respond.
Also, we ask the general membership's assistance to refrain from submitting questions or concerns to the convention team. It doesn't mean that we don't want to know what the issues are, we are asking that you please submit them through your chorus CCL (Chorus Competition Liaison).
If you haven't yet, chorus leaders will be receiving the Sweet Adelines International competitor e-packages. Please read all instructions thoroughly and contact International headquarters if you did not receive the info or if you have any concerns about your entry. If your chorus or quartet does not receive an e-packet by the end of January, please contact International to ensure they have the correct contact information.

miss one bit of information along the road to contest.
*** It is important that your CCL is proficient in Word & Excel,
inorder to correctly complete and submit all forms with
NO CHANGES
necessary to the format.

: If you have questions for anyone on the team, please include your
quartet / chorus name in the subject line of your email. We like to think that we know who everyone is, but sometimes we need a little reminder.

Notes/Changes/Reminders for the
Regional Convention
The magic date for your Regional forms to be submitted is
March 12th, 2018
- Please be sure that Sue Heighway sheighwayreg16@live.ca, Convention Communication Manager has your chorus / quartet contact info. That is the only way to ensure that you receive all convention information.
- Competitor lists will be required to be handed in at the Briefing. International no longer requires these to be emailed to the CC in advance of the contest.
- Region 16 will once again be providing CD recordings to all competitors. DVDs must be ordered as has been done in the past.
- Both contest sessions will be webcast again this year. Watch for notices coming soon about how to sign up for the webcast. Encourage friends and family members who can't attend in person, to watch the competition live!
- The format of any form(s) is not to be altered in any way.
- The Convention Registration, Housing and Single Event Ticket spreadsheet is due before or on before March 12th 2018. Any changes to the spreadsheet after submission will result in an additional fee of $40 USD. Additional rooms may be requested after the deadline date; however, inclusion in the original room block cannot be guaranteed and is subject to availability.
- INTERNATIONAL NOTE: Regional competition informational packets containing entry forms and general info will continue to be available only in electronic format. The information was:
