Attention Practitioners: Opioids & People with Disabilities
|
With the NJSCSW,
IPS presents:
Conversation: #MeToo
The tidal wave of people coming forward with stories of sexual assault is having a major impact on our country; this has appeared to be a transforming moment in time. Women - and men - are feeling more liberated to tell their story and abusers are paying the price.
Sexual aggression is a problem that is deeply rooted in our culture--one in four women and one in six men will be sexually assaulted in their lifetimes. Will this moment of reckoning ultimately change our culture? Recent developments are impacting our work with clients who have been victims (or perpetrators).
We are hearing stories of abuse and discovering the characteristic ways that our clients have processed these experiences. How does this moment enrich our understanding of our clients --- as of ourselves?
January 28th 11:00am - 1:00pm
655 Pomander Walk, Teaneck,
$25 for Non-Members of IPS
2 CE's from NJSCSW.
or call 201-457-0809
Light refreshments offered.

With the NJSCSW,
IPS presents:
Movie Event: Lion
On Sunday, February 11, 2018, the Institute for Psychoanalytic Studies will co-sponsor a viewing and discussion of the movie, Lion. Lion is based on a true story of a boy who was lost to his family in India and was adopted by an Australian family.
Early experiences with parental figures play a significant role in the psychological development of a child. Later in life, these early experiences often are transferentially recreated in new relationships. These dynamics are demonstrated in the movie, Lion.
February 11th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm
655 Pomander Walk, Teaneck $25 for Non-Members of IPS
2 CEUs from NJSCSW.
Light refreshments offered.
