Dear Parents,
Thanks again for sending so many of your friends to register for next year at Preschool. We appreciate your confidence.
Serving as Director of our Preschool for the past 15 years has been a joyful experience for me. I have grown and learned along with children and teachers. It is time for me to move on now, and I am announcing my retirement as of July 31. I will continue to hold our School Family in my heart and in my prayers in coming years.
You will be hearing more later about the process of hiring a new director. Parents will be asked for input about the values and strength of the Preschool as the Search committee does its work.

| EASTER EGG HUNT 3/19 |
|
Come join the fun!
Preschool families are invited for an evening of music, crafts, and the ever exciting egg hunt on Monday, March 19th from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Rain dates are Tu, 3/20 and Th 3/22.
Event Details:
All preschool children and their siblings are welcome to participate in the Easter Egg Hunt! Children will be grouped by age, but siblings may hunt together in the same session.
No need to bring your own baskets for eggs - bags will be provided.
A light snack will be served and we will have a fun craft activity.
Parents are responsible for the supervision and safety of their own children as the plastic eggs may contain small parts.

| SUMMER ACTIVITIES |

| Preschool Summer Camp June 4-8 & 11-15
Registration forms will be sent home in school bags in the next week. Be sure to return forms by March 23. There will be a lottery if there are more registrants than spaces, but we anticipate that there will be space for everyone. After March 23, registrants are taken in order received to fill open spaces.
Vacation Bible School
July 9-13
Register now
Children 4 years old through rising 4th graders explore what life was like for Daniel and his friends, captives in a strange land. At VBS, children have the opportunity to craft cool projects in the Marketplace, laugh while playing Bible games, visit with Daniel, eat interesting food and make new friends along the way. VBS is from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm daily. The registration fee is $10 per child with a maximum of $25 per family.
For rising 5th and 6th graders there is a special program VACATION BIBLE ADVENTURE which includes all the components of the morning program with additional mission and service opportunities. It goes from 9:30 am - 4:30 pm each day. The registration fee is $25 per child with a maximum of $50 per family.

Notice below that the March Gathering includes celebration of June birthdays. Parents of the children with other summer birthdays should notice the calendars for future Gatherings.

The Ducks, Frogs, Pandas and Chipmunks missed having their parents visit last Friday. We are re-scheduling for Friday, March 16 at 8:30 am. Please come; it's a relaxed time to enjoy the play and learning in the classroom along with your child.

Children Coming to Preschool
- New families need to come in with a birth certificate or passport and pick up the packet with forms and Parent Handbook.
- Returning children will bring home their packets in their school bags next week; please put the packet in a safe place.
Going to Kindergarten?
- Go sign up at your neighborhood elementary school NOW so that you get all the necessary information about orientation sessions.
- Sign up at your neighborhood school even if you are applying for a magnet school or possibly moving.
- Please reply to the this e-mail and tell us which school your child will attend if you have not done so already. We like to let you know other families going to the same school.
- For those of you who give us magnet school forms, they will be mailed to FCPS promptly.
- Some of you will be given Transition forms by your elementary school. These will be completed and given to you along with progress reports at the end of May. The elementary schools do not need those until summer. All families will be given an extra copy of the spring progress report to share with your elementary school.

| BAGS, NOT BACKPACKS PLEASE |
|
Please replace the backpacks
The children's teachers like to help them learn independence. The children can easily put away all their artwork and papers when they can reach into the top of a bag hanging on a hook. The bag with one big opening holds lots of artwork. Unzipping a backpack makes the task much more difficult. Also those multiple pockets make it easy for papers to get lost going between teacher and parents.
