TIPS FOR YOUR TAP
No water? How to know if it's a main break or a frozen pipe in your home

It's a cold day and you turn on the kitchen faucet but no delicious pure tap flows out of the tap! What do you do?  Most people pick up the phone to call us and report what must be a water main break or frozen water line. Either of these scenarios could be true, but 99 percent of the time, the cause is a frozen water line within your home. Before calling, check out these suggestions to ensure you do not have  a frozen pipe along with tips on how to prevent one.
No issues maintaining water quality during Ohio River spill

Keen skills, the Ohio River and a Christmas gift helped Louisville Water successfully navigate a spill on the Ohio River and maintain the same, great water quality our customers enjoy every day. On December 19, an unknown amount of liquid fertilizer called urea ammonium nitrate leaked into the Ohio River from a damaged barge near Cincinnati. Louisville Water scientists monitored the river conditions daily - and then hourly - as the spill flowed to Louisville. Read more about how our team rallied during the Christmas holidays to keep customers safe.
Louisville Water increases funding to replace its remaining lead service lines

Over the next three years, residents will see Louisville Water working on many neighborhood streets as the company eliminates its remaining lead service lines that were installed many years ago. The Board of Water Works approved $10.9 million dollars for 2018 projects to replace lead service lines with a copper pipe. The funding is part of Louisville Water's 2018 capital budget.
