 2018 Spirit of Keokuk Awards

Last month the Keokuk Affiliates gathered for the 28th annual Spirit of Keokuk Awards. The awards recognize contributions from individuals, organizations, or businesses who have worked to make Keokuk a better place to live, work, and invest. Over the next few weeks, we'll highlight each of the winners here.

Doug Clippert, is a longtime community volunteer, whose recognition is well-deserved. Doug is the "whatever it takes" kind of guy. Whether its Rollin' on the River or Rand Park Pavilion events, there he is working behind the scenes. Giving up a week of his vacation, he organizes the volunteers for Rollin' on the River's Friday night festival and he helps with everything... literally everything. Setting up picnic tables, fencing, the ticket booth, the bar area, and trash receptacles, and then tearing it all down. And he does it all with his signature smile. To quote one of his nominators "Doug, is wonderful. He is the ultimate volunteer."

Heather Barnett Named to the
Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Advisors Ranking

Heather J. Barnett, Branch Manager of Barnett Financial Partners, Inc associated with Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network, LLC, in Keokuk, IA has been named to the 2018 Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Advisors ranking. This annual list recognizes advisors as among the top in America.

"I am excited and humbled to have been recognized by Forbes as a 2018 top advisor in the state of IA," said Barnett. "It seems a common misconception that to get 'expert' advice, one needs to go to a 'big city.' I hope this accolade is a testament to the fact that one doesn't have to go out of their way to receive the financial guidance and advice that you want and deserve!"

Barnett noted that she doesn't believe an individual receives an accolade such as this completely on one's own. Her husband and business partner, Ryan, wears many hats in their practice, as well as sharing the varied responsibilities at home with their very active sons, Tanner and Brayden. She also shared that she has been very fortunate to work with dedicated professional support team members who are committed to providing exceptional client service. And, she stated that they have been extremely blessed to have amazingly loyal clients who haven't been shy about introducing us to friends or family members when they felt we could help them.

Heather has over 22 years of experience in the financial services industry. She holds a Master of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 2006, Heather became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER Professional.
