CONEG Elects Governor Scott to Lead in 2018
The CONEG governors held their winter breakfast meeting on Sunday, February 25 in Washington, DC. The purpose of the meeting was to elect leadership and convene a roundtable discussion on clean energy, affordability, and the regional economy. Through unanimous vote, the Governors elected Vermont Governor Phil Scott as the 2018 chair.

Viewpoint: Energy and the economy — let’s move forward
While it’s a popular motto to help people feel good about the pace of progress and the need to make calculated risks, “two steps forward, one step back” should not apply to energy policy in our country. However, that’s what would happen if the current federal administration continues to advance its expected infrastructure agenda with provisions to repeal regulations limiting offshore drilling for coastal states.
