Public comment sought on the Draft 2018-19 Work Program
The public is invited to comment on the Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation Long Range Planning Draft 2018-19 Annual Work Program.
The work program identifies and ranks Long Range Planning staff's annual tasks including ordinances, projects and other transportation and community planning activities. Highlights include:
  • Implementation of recommendations from the Aloha Tomorrow study
  • Completion of North Bethany Main Street planning
  • Updates to the Community Development Code including fair housing and food carts
  • Exploration of options to encourage affordable housing development
  • Development of the Cooper Mountain Area Transportation Refinement Plan
  • Continued updates to the TV Highway Corridor Transit Concept/Access Plan
  • Review of road standards
  • Continued participation in regional funding initiatives and policies
  • Participation in ongoing local, regional and state coordination and planning including:
    • Transit service planning and coordination
  • Action on citizen, business and agency requests including:
    • Amendments to the North Bethany Subarea Plan for the realignment of segments of Shackelford Road (Road A) and Primary Streets P4 and P16.

Scott Linfesty
LUT names building official, principal engineer
Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation (LUT) hired a new building official in the Planning and Development Services Division (PDS) and a new principal engineer in the Operations and Maintenance Division (Ops).
Donald "Scott" Linfesty started as the building official on Jan. 8; Aaron Clodfelter started as the principal engineer on Dec. 30.

Linfesty replaces Hank McDonald, who retired as building official on Nov. 30. Linfesty was most recently employed as the interim manager of the State Field Service Office for the Oregon Building Codes Division.
Clodfelter has been the interim principal engineer in Ops since March, replacing Todd Watkins who was promoted to division manager. Clodfelter began his tenure with Ops in 2008 as an engineering assistant. He was promoted to engineering associate later that same year, and was promoted to senior engineer in 2015.  Media release
