It's official: a mandate to teach financial literacy

A new year, and Wisconsin has a new financial literacy mandate for public schools. So what does that mean for our organization, our partners and our teens (like Pao, one of our Money Coach students)?

Money Sense hitting its stride
We're entering the "busy season" for Money Sense, our financial fundamentals course. So far this school year, we've already empowered 2,894 students across Wisconsin with 324 lessons.

At Burlington H.S., that includes about 100 students, two-dozen classes and a handful of volunteers like Kathleen Walker. Click here to read a blog on the Money Sense credit "challenges" Burlington students are taking to heart.
Coming soon: full Investment Conference line-up, individual tickets
It's almost time to roll out the full speaker line-up, individual ticket sales and the roster of sponsors for our 10th anniversary Investment Conference. This is not only the biggest event in the Midwest for investment ideas, but it also serves as our primary fundraiser.

A big thank you to those sponsors who have already locked in to support this exclusive event, including premier sponsors BMO Wealth Management and BMO Global Asset Management; networking sponsor Godfrey & Kahn; and panel sponsor US Bank. Email updates will go out soon to attendees and sponsors from previous years. You can also keep an eye on the new conference website for announcements.
Supporter spotlight: PyraMax Bank
PyraMax, headquartered in Greenfield, is dedicated to improving financial literacy across southeastern Wisconsin.

More than 100 teens have directly had their lives improved from support by the regional bank. Eleven PyraMax volunteers (like Jody Robinson and Wendy Cieklinski, at right) have been active during the last year alone in Money Sense lessons at high schools including Pulaski, South Milwaukee, South Division, St. Anthony and Carmen H.S. of Science & Technology - South.

Our gratitude goes out to PyraMax for their dedication to improving our communities through financial literacy.
